Sandy Dunn appointed to non-executive chairman of Capita Insurance Services

Capita Insurance Services has announced the appointment of Sandy Dunn as its non-executive Chairman. This follows Capita’s recent acquisition of BDML Connect of which Sandy Dunn is Chairman and CEO. Mr. Dunn retains his executive position as CEO of BDML.
The Capita Insurance Services Board comprises the senior management team responsible for 5,400 employees spread across – 35 UK operations covering, Claims Management, Policy Administration, Intermediary Services, London Markets Services, Health Solutions, Legal Services, Fraud Management, Legal & Medical Helplines, Underwriting Assistance and the Teceris business.
Dermot Joyce, Executive Director of the Commercial Services Division of which Capita Insurance Services is the largest entity, said: “I am delighted that Sandy has agreed to join our Divisional Board. His experience at establishing a respected and successful insurance intermediary will be highly valuable in our continued growth as a one-stop, end-to-end solution for insurance. Prior to establishing BDML, Sandy Dunn accumulated a vast experience in the insurance industry having established Eagle Star’s direct operation in 1988/89 and then launching the Touchline direct insurance business in 1993. He was also director of the GAN Group from 1992 to 1998 and established and was Managing Director of Rossborough Insurance Services Limited from 1993 to 1998. Sandy also has held a number of senior positions on industry bodies such as the CII and ABI, and is currently a member of the CII’s broker faculty and is a Chartered Insurance Broker.

Sandy will assume his new role at the next Divisional Board in August.
