Capita Health Solutions, a leading UK provider of occupational health services, has announced the appointment of Dr Simon Sheard (FFOM) as its new Medical Director. He will assume the role in August 2005.

Capita Health Solutions provides essential health solutions including Medical Evidence Services, Employee Lifecycle Support, Offshore Medical Services and Corporate Healthchecks for employees, employers and insurers. The solutions are designed to actively reduce risks, speed up recovery, promote individual wellbeing and improve business performance.

Dr Sheard was previously Clinical Director to BMI Health Services. A Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, he is a leading figure in the field of occupational health and has been responsible for development of national strategies to bring effective organisational health support to the public and private sector.
